Chapel and prayer huts dedicated at Alverna Heights

Last year, the Chapel of St. Clare and two prayer huts dedicated to St. Kateri Techakwitha and St. Marianne Cope at the Alverna Heights Spiritual and Nature Center in Fayetteville, NY were renovated by Eagle Scout Justin Wiszniewski and his parents, Cathy and Bob. On June 22, the chapel and huts were blessed with holy water from Fatima and with Native American blessings offered by members of the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Committee of St. Lucy's Church in Syracuse, NY. Pat Whyland, Beth Kazel and Michael Sacco, members of the Mohawk Tribe, began the prayer service with blessings of smoke and pipe.

It is our hope to foster encounters with God and creation in an environment conductive to prayer, contemplation and fellowship.

We seek to be good stewards of the land and to live in harmony with all of Godís creation.
